One Thumb up, One Thumb down

I thought the story that we read this weekend was good. It was desciptive and it seemed to wrap everything up in the end. It seemed like everything was wraped around that one point in the story, but it all was connected somehow. Some parts made you think, like when the teller was talking about the funeral for the first time, I didn't really know whos funeral it was, the kid with the heart problim or the dad in the army. All in all, it was good.

Twisted Fairy Tales-Pyramid of Abstraction

When Mr. Dye taught us about the pyramid of abstraction in class, it didn't seem that hard. But now that I'm doing it for my story it's the exact opposite. I always wondered why it took so long for authors to write books. If I knew what I was planning to write about I could do it in about a month at most, but it would be high on the pyramid of abstraction. But if I was to go to the very bottom of the pyramid it would take years at least. The POA(Pyramid of Abstraction) is very hard to follow. Sometimes i think that i have done a good job at it, but then I look it over and notice it's so abstract i can't see anything in my head. So basicly the POA is very hard to follow, but when you do it pays off.

Beowulf:Gore

I noticed in the reading homework that there was a lot of desciptive gore in it. But the thing about it was that, i hardly understood anything about the fight seen, it seemed like descibing the gore was more important than about whats actually happening. Personaly I don't really mind gore, in a movie or in a book, but when it's focusing on that more than whats happening it's not really my thing.

List the reasons why:

I should bother studying world history.
You will learn more about how democracy started, and how other countrys were founded

I should bother studying literature.
You get a better vocabulary. You may learn that you like to read and find a new hobby.

I should bother studying language arts.
So you don't sound stupid in everyday conversation.

I should bother studying geography.
So you know how long your flight is to South Koria.
